These events typically take place on the first Saturday of every month, fostering a regular gathering of skilled and passionate participants.
Our facilities include five dedicated pistol ranges, a specialised shotgun range, a 600-metre rifle range, and an additional 100-metre rifle range, offering unmatched opportunities for precision and versatility in shooting sports.
Our story
The Brukunga Combined Pistol and Shooting Club Inc. was established in 1982 to address a pressing need within the shooting community. When the Commissioner of Police mandated that the Police Pistol Club be overseen exclusively by sworn officers, this led to the formation of the Brukunga Club by the civilian members, creating a space with shared values and autonomy.
The club's name originates from its first location — a former BHP pyrites mine site in Brukunga, situated in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. A member of the club, employed by the E & WS Department, negotiated a ten-year lease for the site, laying the foundation for the club's early activities. However, as the lease neared its conclusion, the South Australian Government sought to expand the CFS training base at Brukunga and required the club to relocate. After securing a one-year extension, an exhaustive search for a new site led the club to acquire a 465-hectare property east of the Murray River.
The new site was formerly a quarry operated by Bridge Quarries and supplied sand for the Swanport Bridge construction. With its native vegetation and sandy terrain, the property presented an ideal environment for a shooting facility. Thanks to the dedication of the Club's members, financial support from within, and collaborative efforts with the Army Corps of Engineers and private contractors, the location was developed into a premier shooting park. It has included the establishment of a 600-meter rifle range, pistol ranges, and a comprehensive road network. By May 1994, the property was fully owned by the Club, complete with all necessary permits, and officially registered as a Sports Shooting Park within the Rural City of Murray Bridge’s Planning Act.
Today, the Brukunga Combined Pistol and Shooting Club is a modern facility catering to a variety of shooting disciplines. The Club boasts a 600-meter rifle range with 1,850 meters behind the stop butt.
