The Jamestown Pistol & Shooting Club is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for shooting enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. We place particular emphasis on encouraging participation among junior shooters and families, creating a welcoming space where individuals can develop their skills in a responsible and enjoyable setting.
With a current membership of approximately 30 individuals, our club maintains a strong sense of community while offering personalised support and training opportunities. We strive to make the sport accessible to everyone, offering affordable membership options for both individuals and families. Additionally, pistol hire is available for a modest fee, ensuring that newcomers and seasoned shooters alike have the resources they need to participate fully.
Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced shooter seeking a like-minded community, our club provides a respectful and well-managed environment to enjoy the sport.

Sessions & Events
The Jamestown Pistol & Shooting Club offers a regular and diverse calendar of events for shooting enthusiasts, catering to a wide range of disciplines in a safe, structured, and community-oriented environment.
Weekly shooting sessions are held every Tuesday evening, with a focus on the 10m Air Pistol discipline — an excellent entry point for beginners and a valuable practice format for seasoned competitors. In addition to these weekly sessions, the club’s Committee convenes on the first Tuesday of each month to oversee operations, plan upcoming events, and ensure the ongoing development and success of the club.
Our Live Range, located within a dedicated outdoor facility, is active every second Sunday of the month and supports all approved shooting disciplines. This includes more advanced formats and offers members the opportunity to engage in full-scale competition and skill development.
Over the years, the Jamestown Live Range has proudly hosted numerous inter-club competitions, welcoming participants from across South Australia. These events combine friendly rivalry with a shared passion for the sport, creating memorable weekends filled with community spirit, sportsmanship, and high-calibre shooting.

ISSF Events, including .22 Rimfire Pistol, Centrefire Pistol, and Blackpowder Pistol
Blackpowder Rifle
.22 Rimfire Rifle – up to 100 metres
Clay Target Shooting (Shotgun)

Our story
Established in 1979, the Jamestown Pistol & Shooting Club has proudly served the Mid North community of South Australia for over four decades, promoting the safe, responsible, and enjoyable practice of shooting sports. The Club operates across two dedicated sites, each purpose-built to support a range of shooting disciplines and to provide a welcoming environment for members of all skill levels.
Our Air Range is conveniently located on South Terrace in the heart of Jamestown, approximately 210 kilometres north of Adelaide. This facility is designed specifically for 10m Air Pistol shooting and provides a controlled indoor environment ideal for both practice and competition. The Air Range hosts regular weekly sessions and serves as the central meeting point for many of our club activities.
The Live Range, situated just east of Jamestown along Belalie North Road, offers a scenic and expansive outdoor setting. Nestled beside the tranquil Belalie Creek, the range is surrounded by natural beauty, creating a peaceful yet focused atmosphere for shooting. This site supports a wide variety of approved disciplines, including ISSF events, blackpowder and rimfire rifle shooting, and clay target (shotgun) shooting.
Together, these two facilities allow the Jamestown Pistol & Shooting Club to offer a comprehensive and enriching experience for its members — balancing community spirit, competitive opportunity, and a deep appreciation for the sport.
